I WONDER if anyone else has realised how incompetent Torfaen Council is and how reckless they are with our children’s education.
I refer to the imminent closure of Pontnewynydd Primary School which the council told us was closing due to excess school places in Pontypool, so when Councillor Mike Harris objected in July last year, they said his figures were wrong and there would be plenty of school places around once they shut the school.
Well, let’s fast forward a year and what a surprise, the council are now consulting on expanding two schools to accommodate pupils as this September they are 44 places short for reception pupils. That means 44 children missing out due to council incompetence. They are a complete joke, but I’m not laughing, are you?
