OVER the last three years my partner has had two major operations. After each operation, he was issued one zimmer frame, two elbow crutches, two walking sticks as he recovered his mobility.
We were not allowed to re-use the first aids, for the second operation.
If you then double up to allow for two operations, the cost is enormous I tried to return these aids after each operation.
I was told Health and Safety didn’t allow it... bin them!
Surely a scheme to sterilise and recycle could be undertaken.
It must be many millions of pounds of waste to the stressed NHS.
