NEWPORT City Council would like to apologise to users of the bus station at Friars Walk over the delays in installing real time passenger information, as highlighted by your letter writer, Lindsey Hayes, in the South Wales Argus on September 16.
Due to a number of factors outside the council’s control work on installing the digital totems has been delayed.
This means the timetable information on the screens cannot be displayed, however officers are working with the suppliers and hope to resolve these issues in the near future.
In the meantime the council will liaise with the bus operators to investigate ways of improving the bus timetable information on the temporary notices and will endeavour to make them more user friendly for passengers than they are at present.
The council would like to thank passengers for their patience over these delays and apologise for the inconvenience this is causing.
