THE Rogerstone Labour campaign team say they are annoyed at shops continually closing in Newport – aren’t we all? Can I remind them this has been happening for the last ten years at least and at a time they were in power.
They closed the InShops, putting numerous people out of work, in order to modernise it – when?
They say that the Tory/Lib Dem coalition have borrowed in order to run services. I wonder: could this be that when Labour left office, they did as they did to the country – bankrupt it?
They say that they know that residents are annoyed at the proposed sale of Bethesda Field. The reason for the sale is to improve the lives of all Rogerstone residents.
And Labour are known for selling off greenfield sites. This is nothing but a cheap political scoring point.
They then go on to say that only Labour or Conservative can be elected. Wrong. I am an elected Plaid Cymru community councillor and to add to this, Plaid’s policy is not to sell greenfield sites.
Community Councillor Dave Hall, Phillips Green, Rogerstone
