A HOUSEHOLDER has been given permission to keep a raised garden and the wall around it at their home.
Daniel Wood, of Greenland Road, in Trevethin, Pontypool had put up the 1.4 metre wall to create a patio area at the back of his house with a raised lawn above it.
He had started work in June 2021 in June 2021 before putting in an application for planning permission, to Torfaen Borough Council, 12 months later.
The council has approved the application but advised Mr Wood to contact Welsh Water as it had believed there was a public sewer crossing the garden, but the council said records do not support that.
