Reflecting on the proposal in the South Wales Argus on February 7 regarding the household waste bins to be collected every three weeks.
I must agree it's a joke.
When we first had our first household waste bins, the council provided us with much larger bins than we have today for once a week.
Then Newport Council decided in their wisdom to every two weeks collection.
At great expense to the council they purchased the large waste bins, then recalled them, to be replaced by the much smaller waste bin for fortnightly collection.
Where did the large waste bins go.
Now once again will our council withdraw these smaller waste bins and at great expense purchase even smaller or larger bins to accommodate a three week collection.
On the point of waste. Right or wrong I have been told that the market cost £7 million to transform.
Our leisure centre, which was built in the 1970s, is to be pulled down and the site cleared at the cost of £1 to £2 to the council and rebuilt on another site.
What a Waste.
