Mrs Perry (Letters, August 16) must walk along Selsdon High Street with her eyes shut, otherwise she would be aware that there are theee newsagents, a baker, three chemists plus a number of other shops which would be affected by the Sainsbury's development.
There is too much emotion and not enough common sense involved in this debate.
One of the main problems will be the effect of increased traffic which would effect everyone, even the non-car owners, as buses may be delayed.
