MONMOUTH Cricket Club’s Ben Davies has been called up by Wales.
The left-arm spinner from Wyesham has been selected for two matches next week.
He will be playing for Wales Under-11s against Somerset at Newport next Wednesday.
Ben will then be playing against Herefordshire in Hereford next Thursday.
The Wales team is coached by former Somer-set all-rounder Graham Burgess.
It is a richly-deserved Wales call-up for Ben, who bagged 3-36 against Devon Under-12 at Torquay on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Monmouth Cricket Club vice-chairman Ian Morgan has been recognised by Cricket Wales for his commitment to coaching.
Under the Sky Coach Award scheme, Morgan has been selected to attend a Glamorgan match next month with eight other coaches chosen from each region in Wales.
Morgan has been invited for a meal and to watch Glamorgan’s YB40 floodlit match against Somerset at the SWALEC Stadium on Monday, August 12.
The event is the same day as Monmouth Cricket Club host a Gwent Under-12s match against Hereford-shire at Monmouth Sports Ground.
