NEWPORT County AFC have announced that the Hazell Terrace at Rodney Parade will not be open for Saturday's League Two clash with Accrington Stanley.
A statement on the club website reads: "The works required by the SGSA in the close season on the Hazell Terrace to make it comply with safety regulations and meet the Football League grading requirements are on going and not yet complete.
"They include erecting a new crush barrier for the full length of the touchline and levelling and improving the steps and gangways on the Terrace.
"As a result it was decided at a meeting with council safety officials yesterday that it would not be possible to open the Hazell Terrace under cover on Saturday.
"The uncovered touchline terrace on the Hazell side will be open on Saturday in reduced numbers only to Hazell Terrace season ticket holders. This is subject to groundwork’s being completed by Friday.
"Anybody else wishing to stand on the terraces can use the North Terrace for which there are approx 500 tickets left.
"The Bisley Stand is unaffected and the Hazell Stand will be open for the game. The temporary capacity granted for the game is 6,300 including 1,100 in the away segregated area.
"Pre match ticket sales are going exceptionally well and we are expecting a big attendance for our return to the Football League on Saturday against Accrington Stanley at Rodney Parade.
"Supporters are advised to buy tickets in advance to avoid congestion on the day and disappointment of not getting the place you require.
"The club apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause supporters, but is necessary work and all part of a long process to meet Football League & safety requirements."
