NEWPORT County AFC’s return to the Football League tomorrow will be marked with a special collector’s edition of the club programme.
The 164-page edition (last season’s programme for home matches was just 48 pages) will feature a series of special articles on the fall and rise of County and the 25-year journey back to the League.
There will be a season-by-season guide to the Exiles’ quarter of a century in non-league football, special articles on the grounds the club played at, interviews with the chairmen and managers during the period, and photographs culled from the Argus’ extensive archive.
The special programme will cost £5. For the rest of the season County programmes will contain 100 pages and cost £3.50.
Programme editor Ian Hopkins told the Argus: “Getting the club back into the Football League has been a tremendous achievement by Justin and his players, and we are conscious that our off-field set-up must reflect and add value to this.
“A key part of this is the matchday programme. We feel that this special edition will be very well received.
“We want to reflect the returning feelgood factor around the club and I feel we have more than achieved this.”
