Newport County 4 Accrington Stanley 1
NEWPORT County AFC marked their return to the Football League with a thumping with over Accrington Stanley.
The Exiles were in control from the first whistle until the last as their debutants caught the eye on a magical afternoon in front of a bumper crowd.
Defender Harry Worley and striker Chris Zebroski (twice) both scored on debut, with Adam Chapman creating three goals in a virtuoso display.
Chapman’s long throw supplied Worley for the first and Zebroski doubled the advantage following a fine team move on the stroke of half time.
A stunner from Christian Jolley and another cracker from Zebroski made it 4-0, before ex-Man United man Danny Webber grabbed a consolation.
The Exiles are next in action on Tuesday at Brighton in the Capital One Cup.
