NEWPORT County have added another member to their growing off-field staff by securing a former player to be their community develop-ment officer.
The Exiles have revealed the job has gone to former player Norman Parselle.
Parselle, who will take up the post in September, will be responsible for developing the Gateway Schools project in partnership with the Newport Gwent Dragons community department.
This will see County going into 24 primary schools in the city and surrounding areas on a fortnightly basis to coach and develop football and other sports.
Parselle has already held a number of community based roles within the city since retiring from playing.
From the Pill area, 43-year-old Parselle was an ex-favourite with Newport and also turned out for Cwmbran Town, Forest Green Rovers and Merthyr Tydfil.
