NEWPORT County AFC have this evening confirmed that the Hazell Terrace at Rodney Parade will be open with a reduced capacity for the visit of Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
The terrace was closed for County's opening League Two clash with Accrington Stanley on August 3 due to safety concerns but it will reopen for the highly anticipated game against the Pirates, bringing the capacity up to 6,489.
A statement on the Exiles' official website reads: "Following a safety meeting at Rodney Parade this afternoon, it has been decided that the Hazell Terrace will be open for Saturday’s Skybet League Two derby with Bristol Rovers with a reduced capacity.
"The works are on going and a section of the new barrier installation has been completed. The capacity on the Hazell Terrace for Saturday’s game will be 660 and these tickets will be on sale from the Rodney Parade ticket office tomorrow morning. The total capacity for the stadium on the day will be 6,489.
"Supporters are reminded that the game is ALL TICKET for both sets of supporters and that you must purchase tickets in advance. There will be NO tickets available on the day. Supporters are advised to buy their tickets early to avoid disappointment. Just over 4,000 tickets have so far been sold and the Club expects the game to be a sell – out.
"The Rodney Parade ticket office is open from Tuesday – Friday, 9am-5pm or you can purchase over the phone by calling 01633 670690 option 1, or online at http://www.newport-county.co.uk/index.php?cat=buy_tickets "
