NEWPORT Gwent Dragons will not be taking their LV= Cup games away from Rodney Parade in the coming season.
The region had investigated the possibility of playing one of their home fixtures against London Wasps in November or Northampton in January at Ebbw Vale’s Eugene Cross Park.
Playing games outside Newport remains an ambition but it was decided at a board meeting to put the plans on hold for 2013/14.
Given that home advantage has already been forfeited for the RaboDirect Pro12 derby against the Ospreys – which will be part of the Millennium Stadium double-header – it is felt that consideration must be given to those that have already bought season tickets.
Meanwhile, the Dragons will be introducing a third jersey – a white change shirt to avoid colour clashes.
The region unveiled a blue and black change kit, inspired by the colours of Monmouthshire rather than Cardiff, but need a light alternative for the coming campaign as their home option is black.
