NEWPORT Dig it Landscapes cycle speedway team are the new South and South Wales Division One champions for the first time in their history, after storming to a massive 44-point victory at Southampton.
Newport won 112-68 against a Saints team that was missing a few of their top racers but nothing should be taken away from the Welsh team who have won all 11 league fixtures this season and will head to Poole looking to go through the season unbeaten.
Nick Evans, Jack Harrold and Mark Carmichael all recorded maximum scores, while Tom Colling and Haydn Chant impressed for the saints .
