NEWPORT legend Gary Teichmann is returning to Rodney Parade on the eve of South Africa's Test against Wales.

The iconic back row forward, now 46, is heading back to his old stomping ground for a special rugby dinner on Friday, November 8.

He will be joined in the Bisley Suite by a host of fellow former Black and Ambers, including members of the side that famously won the Welsh Cup at the Millennium Stadium in 2001.

Teichmann won 42 caps for South Africa before moving to Wales in 1999 and becoming a Newport great.

He made 52 appearances for the Black and Ambers, scoring a try against Pontypridd at Rodney Parade on debut and signing off by lifting silverware in the capital after a nervy 13-8 victory against Neath.

The Rodney Parade event starts at 7.30pm and will include a two-course dinner, question and answer session, raffle and auction.

Tables of 10 are available for £450 with a limited number of individual covers on shared tables costing £45. There are 30 VIP tickets at £65 which includes a champagne reception with Teichmann in one of the Bisley Stand executive boxes and prime seating for the main event.

Tickets are available at theeventsroom.co.uk or by calling 0845 108 5690.
