WALES international goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has joined Championship club Yeovil Town on a one-month loan deal from League One Wolves.
The 26-year-old has not played a senior game since April 2012 because of cruciate ligament problems.
He was set to move to Yeovil last week, but the deal was put on hold after he tweaked his hamstring while training with Wales ahead of the friendly against the Republic of Ireland.
After undergoing tests Hennessey has now been cleared to join the Glovers, where he will team up with former Newport County AFC favourite Sam Foley.
The Championship club had brought in Sam Johnstone on loan from Manchester United to fill the gap left by Hennessey, but he has now returned to his parent club with a finger injury, sustained in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat by Burnley.
Yeovil were forced to look for another keeper after first-choice Marek Stech broke his hand during the first home game of the season, a 1-0 defeat by Birmingham.
Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett believes Hennessey can re-establish himself as Wales’ number one this season once he is up to full fitness.
Hennessey won the last of his 38 caps in a 4-1 friendly win over Norway at Cardiff City Stadium in November 2011.
“He’ll be a fantastic option and we want to see him back for both club and country,” said Jackett, who himself won 31 caps for Wales.
“If he plays well I do think he can [regain a regular Wales spot].
“He was established before in League One and he’s a superb professional as well.”
Yeovil also signed midfielder Joe Ralls on a five-month loan deal from Cardiff City last week.
The 19-year-old has played 20 games for the Premier League newcomers since joining them from Aldershot Town in 2010.
