READY TO GO: The Newport cycle speedway team to face Wednesfield Aces in the British Team Cup semi-finals
NEWPORT cycle speedway team, fresh from their winning the South and South Wales Division One title, will be looking to progress to the final of the British Team Cup final this Sunday.
They take on the Wednesfield Aces, the sport's most successful team in the competition having won it seven times.
The Aces compete in the top tier of racing in the Premier league, so the young Newport team will start as underdogs in the semi-final, but after winning their regional title recently the Welsh team could spring a surprise against the powerful west Midlands outfit.
