NEWPORT County U18s remain joint-bottom of the Football League Youth Alliance's South West division after a 2-0 defeat away to Oxford United.
It is the County Academy's debut season in the FLYA following the first team's promotion last season.
The standard is high but the U18s have produced a series of encouraging displays, though they only have a solitary point to show for their efforts so far.
The Llanwern High School-based Academy is running two U18s teams this season and is also competing in the South West Counties Youth League.
County maintained their 100% start to the SWCYL with a thrilling 5-3 victory over Dorchester Town at Llanrumney.
The U18s fought back from 3-1 down to clinch their second successive win, with goals from Nathan Doe (2), Brad Flay, Nathan Woods and Joe Ward.
This weekend County are at home to Swindon Town in the FLYA at Spytty Park (kick off 11am) and away to league leaders Forest Green Rovers in the SWCYL.
