NEWPORT Squash Rackets Club had a triple celebration with three winners in the recent Welsh Junior Open Squash Championships, held at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff.
In the girls under-19 category Jenny Haley, the number two seed, added to her recent win at Wycliffe College by defeating Elin Harlow from North Wales in an epic five-setter, clinching the title 15-13 in the fifth game.
In the girls under-17 category Lauren Williams, also seeded two, defeated the top seed and compatriot Tyra Beattie in another five game battle.
Meanwhile, Lucy Jones won the girls under-11 category and her sister, Katie, finished runner-up in the girls under-13 event.
Other players from Newport were Dan Bergin, who finished fifth in the boys under-19, Tino Sidoli-Williams, who was runner-up in the boys under-11, Lewis Poole was third in the boys under-13, and in the boys under-15 Jordan Williams and Kieran Hillman finished fourth and twelfth respectively, while Liam Eason finished eighth in the boys under-17.
