FORMER Newport Gwent Dragons captain Luke Charteris is set to make his return to action for Perpignan this weekend.

The 30-year-old Wales lock had been targeting the Catalan giants' Top 14 clash with Biarritz last weekend but featured instead for their development side against Toulon on Sunday.

Charteris, who made 142 appearance over nine seasons for the Dragons, came through unscathed and could now play against Gloucester at Kingsholm in the Heineken Cup on Saturday evening.

The 40-times capped second row's World Cup exploits earned a bumper deal with Perpignan but he damaged ligaments in his right knee when playing against Montpellier in the Top 14 last December.
