NEWPORT Gwent Dragons are waiting for results of scans after full-back/wing Tom Prydie suffered a hamstring injury training with Wales, writes Chris Kirwan.
The 21-year-old was called up to train with Warren Gatland’s autumn series squad this week but the five-times capped speedster’s time at their Vale of Glamorgan headquarters was cut short by injury.
The Dragons should learn the extent of the blow tomorrow and will have their fingers crossed that the damage is not too serious ahead of a busy schedule leading up to the festive period.
“Tom look really sharp on Tuesday,” said Gatland. “It’s a shame because the other coaches spoke highly about the way that he trained and his attitude on the summer tour of Japan.”
Meanwhile, fly-half/centre Lewis Robling faces six weeks on the sidelines after undergoing an operation on his right knee.
The 22-year-old damaged cartilage playing for Newport against Bridgend at the start of the month.
