NEWPORT Gwent Dragons have been dealt a double injury blow with Tom Prydie and Jonathan Evans facing at least a month on the sidelines, writes Chris Kirwan.

The full-back/wing and scrum-half have been ruled out for between four and six weeks with hamstring and shoulder injuries respectively.

Prydie pulled up when training with Wales last Tuesday, a blow that will prevent the 21-year-old from adding to his five caps this autumn.

"It's a shame because Tom just getting his game back together and was starting to build," said Dragons director of rugby Lyn Jones.

"He's had a tough couple of years since being selected for Wales (as an 18-year-old in 2010), that was maybe before he was ready and he struggled to live up to that.

"Tom has been in good form this season and was growing in confidence and it's disappointing that he picked up an injury because I am sure he would have been in line for selection for Wales against Tonga (on Friday)."

Prydie's injury combined with fellow full-back/wing Hallam Amos' Wales call-up reduces the options for the Dragons' back three for Friday's RaboDirect Pro12 clash in Glasgow.

They also look set to be down to their last two fit scrum-halves after Evans and Luc Jones were forced from the field against Wasps.

Evans, the Dragons' player of 2012/13, suffered a bang to his left shoulder and will be out until at least mid-December.

Jones, who made his Dragons debut in the LV= Cup opener at the Scarlets, faces a wait to learn the damage after a blow to the knee forced the 19-year-old off in the final quarter on Saturday.

In-form scrum-half Richie Rees is sure to start in Glasgow while Wayne Evans is fit to be his back-up.

The Dragons will be looking to get some pride back against their Scottish hosts on Friday – they were thrashed 37-6 at Scotstoun and, embarrassingly, 60-3 at Rodney Parade last season.
