DORIAN Jones is back in action at outside-half for Cross Keys tomorrow after making his regional debut for the Newport Gwent Dragons last weekend.

The 21-year-old came on as a replacement in the 20-8 victory over Wasps in the LV= Cup at Rodney Parade on Saturday and hasn't played for Keys since October after suffering a chest injury.

He will orchestrate a strong looking side who are seeking their fifth win on the bounce after their opening two British and Irish Cup clashes were safely navigated before enjoying back-to-back Principality Premiership triumphs.

There are a number of former Neath players in home ranks this weekend, full back Aaron Bramwell, prop Anthony Lott, hooker Gerwyn Price and number eight Adam Powell all in their match-day squad.

Neath have a strong Gwent connection, coached by former Ebbw Vale lock Neil Edwards, the Welsh All Blacks also have two ex-Keys men in their front row in hooker Ieuan Dobbs and tighthead Marc Jones.

Once the most feared club side in Wales, the visitors have fallen on hard times, propping up the league with seven defeats out seven in all competitive matches so far in this campaign.

But Keys won’t need reminding that even though they did a Premiership double over Neath last season, the Swalec Cup holders came a cropper against them at the Gnoll in February when they were knocked out of the competition.

There’s another intriguing clash just down the road tomorrow afternoon, Rodney Parade the venue as Newport host the high flying table toppers of Carmarthen Quins.

The West Walians have been highly impressive this season and have won all of their seven league matches so far, leading the Premiership from champions Pontypridd on points difference.

Newport will look to preserve an excellent record against the Quins – they have never lost to them at home and their colours have only been lowered once in the 14 matches played between the two so far, the Black and Ambers winning all 13 of the other encounters.

The hosts, who’ve had a decidedly indifferent start to the season, will also be buoyed by an excellent bonus point victory in their last match, Bridgend battered 28-13 in early November at Rodney Parade.

Tomorrow is a special one for popular prop Dai Pattison who makes his 300th appearance for Newport.

The Cardiff-born 33-year-old made his Black and Ambers debut in 2002 and now joins an elite group of players to have achieved the triple century milestone, Wales international second row David Waters having played the most times for the famous club after representing them in a remarkable tally of 702 games.

This weekend sees Dan Robinson return in the midfield in place of promising Newport Gwent Dragons Academy player Tyler Morgan and Dom Franchi for regional centre Ashley Smith in an otherwise unchanged back line from the victory over Bridgend.

Converted prop Jamie Jeune makes his first ever start at hooker.
