NEWPORT County AFC manager Justin Edinburgh has ruled himself out of taking over at League Two rivals Portsmouth.
Pompey sacked boss Guy Whittingham on Monday and Edinburgh has been linked with the vacancy at the club where he finished his playing career.
But after last night's 0-0 draw at leaders Oxford United, he dismissed the prospect of him leaving Rodney Parade any time soon.
"I'm more than happy at this football club [Newport]," said Edinburgh.
"It's a fantastic club… the grass isn't always greener on the other side so I think I've got fantastic backing by the board, a great relationship with [director of football] Tim Harris."
Edinburgh, who signed a new Newport deal only last month, added: "You can see my players play for me and I think we're a work in progress and I look forward to continuing that work."
