HUGH Gustafson is back at loosehead prop for the Newport Gwent Dragons for their must-win Amlin Challenge Cup clash with Bordeaux-Bègles at Rodney Parade tomorrow night (kick-off 7.15pm).
Director of rugby Lyn Jones has selected a strong looking side to face the French Top 14 outfit which sees lock Andrew Coombs captain the team after he spent last month with the Wales squad for their four-match autumn series.
The Dragons’ star player Toby Faletau comes straight back in at number eight after he enjoyed a reasonably good November playing for Wales in the defeats to South Africa and Australia, plus the record victory over Argentina.
The region also select their latest capped player Hallam Amos in the starting XV, the 19-year-old making his Wales debut in the 17-7 victory over Tonga at the Millennium Stadium three weeks ago.
He is on the left wing with Matthew Pewtner on the right, Dan Evans at full-back.
Tomorrow evening will see Gustafson play in his first game at prop for the Dragons since 2011 after the region converted him into a hooker.
Sam Parry is the first choice No 2 for this encounter with Elliot Dee as his understudy.
The impressive Matthew Screech will partner Coombs in the second row, Rob Sidoli among the replacements while fellow lock Cory Hill is cup-tied for this week’s showdown.
Wayne Evans gets the nod at scrum-half ahead of Richie Rees who is on the bench with Jason Tovey at outside-half.
