POWERFUL back Polu Uhi has returned to Ebbw Vale as the Steelmen look to cement their promotion back to the Premiership, writes Chris Kirwan.
The 29-year-old wing/centre left Eugene Cross Park in the summer to play with Cardiff in the top flight.
But after making 11 appearances for the Blue and Blacks he has returned to Gwent with the Swalec Championship champions-elect.
Head coach Jason Strange said: "I'm delighted Polu has decided to rejoin us, he will add significantly to what is already a very competitive back line.
“He was outstanding for us last season, playing at both centre and wing. I know what sort of person he is and we will get the best out of him.”
The Steelmen, who have won all 15 league games to build a whopping 24-point lead over, have also signed back row forward James Bull from Division One East outfit Bedlinog.
“He's a young, ambitious ball-carrying back row forward who is very well respected by everyone at Bedlinog,” said Strange. “If we can round off a few edges he will become a very good player."
There is no Championship action until Blackwood head to Llanharan looking to climb off the bottom of the table on February 15, a week before a full round of fixtures.
