NEWPORT Gwent Dragons face a double selection headache after full-back Hallam Amos and number eight Netani Talei were ruled out of Sunday's RaboDirect Pro12 clash with Glasgow.

The Dragons' hopes of doing the double over the Scottish title hopefuls at Rodney Parade (kick-off 2.30pm) have been hit by the loss of the key pair following last weekend's 31-19 defeat to Leinster.

Wales international Amos suffered another injury to his right ankle in Dublin. The 19-year-old missed five weeks of rugby after a similar blow in the Boxing Day win against Cardiff Blues.

The Rodney Parade region are still waiting for the results of scans that will reveal the full extent of the damage but he is definitely out of Sunday's home encounter.

That leaves them without a specialist full-back because Dan Evans is suspended until March 12 after committing a tip tackle against Newcastle in the LV= Cup while Tom Prydie is out of action, also with an ankle injury.

The most likely option is that fly-half Jason Tovey will sport the 15 jersey that he wore for much of 2012/13 while with Cardiff Blues.

The left-footer moved back to full-back in Dublin when Steffan Jones, who looks set to battle for the start at 10 with former Italy international Kris Burton, came off the bench for Amos.

Another option could be Cross Keys and Wales Sevens back Rhys Jones, who started at full-back in November's LV= Cup win against London Wasps.

Fijian powerhouse Talei, who was deputising for Wales and Lions star Taulupe Faletau, was forced off with a rib injury at the Royal Dublin Society and faces a fortnight on the sidelines.

Versatile back row forward Lewis Evans slotted in at 8 in Ireland and could stay there against Glasgow or Cardiff Blues-bound Ieuan Jones could earn a recall.

Glasgow head to Wales with a perfect away record in the Pro12 but were turned over on their own patch by the Dragons in November.

That 23-8 win at Scotstoun is the region's only away win in the league this term while Gregor Townsend's men have won all seven of their games on the road, including a 27-20 success in Cardiff last Saturday.

Glasgow – who humiliated the Dragons 60-3 in the corresponding fixture last season – would complete a clean sweep of the Welsh regions with a win at Rodney Parade.
