CONGRATULATIONS to Elijah Carrol (14) and Josh Carron (15) of Wye Gymnastics, Caldicot, who gained 1st and 2nd places respectively, at the first ever Dragons Cup Competition held in Haverfordwest.
The Dragon Cup was developed to allow Elite gymnasts a chance to compete at a higher level in preparation for the British qualifiers competition which will be held in Sheffield, on the 15th and 16th of March where both boys will now compete.
A total of 28 gymnasts from the club took part in events held in Swansea and Haverfordwest over the weekend, with 21 medalling - collecting eight 1st, nine 2nd and four 3rd places.
The National Development Grades (NDP) 1-4 (Club level), were held on Saturday in Swansea, with the National level taking place on Sunday in Haverfordwest. The National grades requires a higher skill level and the top gymnasts in each grade qualify to represent Wales in the semi finals. Ioan Edwards, Mason Riddoch, Dylan Duffield, Izzie Harris and Molly Harris all qualififed to compete and the semi finals in Sheffield.
Carly Hawke, Head coach at Wye Gymnastics said: "I cannot be more proud of all our gymnasts who competed this weekend. Every single one performed fantastically and we are looking forward to getting back in the gym to train for the upcoming British competitions. There are very exciting times ahead for these gymnasts."
