NEWPORT County AFC have been drawn away to Championship club Reading in the first round of the Capital One Cup.
The tie will be played in the week beginning Monday, August 11.
The match will be a special occasion for Reading's Newport-born defender Chris Gunter as the Wales international faces his hometown club.
Fellow Welsh international Hal Robson-Kanu is also in the Royals ranks alongside Russian star Pavel Pogrebnyak.
The meeting in the Capital One Cup will be the 91st between the two clubs, with the first coming back in August 1920 in the Division Three (South) when Reading won 1-0.
August 1970 saw the only meeting between the sides in the League Cup and County enjoyed a 2-1 home win.
This will be the first game between the two clubs since they clashed in the old Division Three in March 1986, when Reading earned a 2-0 win.
The Sky Bet Championship side finished 7th last season narrowly missing out on the playoffs and Nigel Adkins men will be a good test for Justin Edinburgh and the squad at the start of the 2014/15 season.
Sponsors Capital One have announced that all first round fixtures in this season's competition will have a special discount for children.
The 'Capital One Kids for £1' promotion will give the opportunity for any fan buying a full-price adult Capital One Cup first round match ticket, the right to buy a maximum of five child tickets for £1 each.
