THERE will be a draw to determine which group each Welsh regional representative will enter in next season’s British and Irish Cup, writes Chris Kirwan.
The draw for the five pools has been made even though the four Principality Premiership qualifiers are not yet known.
Like last year, each region will put forward a representative for the cross-border competition, which does not feature Scottish clubs in 2014/15.
Playoffs will be held before the start of the league campaign with the Newport Gwent Dragons team decided by Cross Keys hosting Ebbw Vale and Newport heading to Bedwas before the victors meet in a final.
A draw to decide which pool they enter will be held in the next few weeks and it will be bus trips rather than flights for the Welsh team that enters Pool 4 as it features Cornish Pirates, Doncaster and Bedford Blues.
One Premiership outfit will take on champions Leinster A while another will lock horns with big-spending Bristol and their sizeable Welsh contingent.
Pool 1: London Scottish, Wales 2, Bristol Rugby, Connacht
Pool 2: Rotherham Titans, Leeds Carnegie, Ulster Ravens, Wales 4
Pool 3: Worcester Warriors, Nottingham Rugby, Moseley, Munster A
Pool 4: Wales 1, Cornish Pirates, Doncaster Knights, Bedford Blues
Pool 5: Leinster A, Plymouth Albion, Wales 3, Jersey RFC
