THERE'S a saying that players don't get as tired when they are winning – hopefully that will be the case as Glamorgan enter another crazy block of the season.
We start a crucial County Championship game against Worcestershire at New Road on Sunday that sees us play for 11 out of 13 days.
A NatWest T20 Blast game against Middlesex in Richmond swiftly follows our trip to Worcester, then it's Somerset under the lights in Cardiff, Surrey in a four-day game in Colwyn Bay and then a T20 against them at the Oval.
The schedule pretty tough on the boys considering that we've just had a block of 11 out of 13, but they'll dig deep, especially with promotion to Division One and the T20 quarter-finals up for grabs.
As a former bowler I know all too well how hard it can be on the likes of Michael Hogan and Graham Wagg, who have racked up the overs recently, but at least the batters are helping them out.
When you score 600, as we did in Bristol last week thanks to centuries by Jacques Rudolph and Ben Wright and 50s by Will Bragg, Chris Cooke, Jim Allenby and Ruaidhri Smith, the bowlers can have a day off, get some physio and come back refreshed.
We dominated the game against Gloucestershire and tried everything to get the win on day four but it just wasn't to be on a flat and placid pitch.
That was a frustrating one and it was the same the following evening when we were edged out by Hampshire in our T20 in Cardiff.
I thought that Darren Sammy was going to win it for us but he was brilliantly caught on the boundary in the penultimate over; Jimmy Adams was like a high jumper at long-off and had the ball been two inches higher then I don't doubt that we would have celebrated a great win.
It was such a shame for Darren, who is now heading back to the West Indies. I really thought he was going to sign off with a match-winning knock but we are still in a good position to push for the quarters.
There is still plenty to play for in the four-day game as well and it will be a huge game against second-placed Worcestershire.
They are 30 points ahead of us at the moment but a good result will put us right in the mix and ready for a charge for promotion with six games left.
We don't have the biggest of squads and the boys will be pushed hard over the next fortnight but I don't doubt that we can emerge from this manic spell in great shape.
