NEWPORT Saracens RFC pre-season training starts tonight at 6.30pm at the club’s ground off the Southern Distributor Road.
Players new to the club who are interested in getting fit or joining the club are invited to attend training every Tuesday and Thursday.
Following his edict at the last club meeting, club president Bobby Windsor will be actively supporting the team in its aim of becoming among the fittest in Wales.
Work has started on the foundations and fabrication of a new club house after formal planning permission was recently granted for the club to go ahead.
The intention is to have the facility up and running in two months.
Chairman Nicky Parks will be convening a meeting during the second week of July to formally establish the club under its original constitution.
All interested parties are asked to call Parks or John Shine for details on how they can support this endeavour.
The club would also like to apologise for previously stating that Ken Lovelock was the club’s oldest member.
In fact Jack Sully, a life time member and in his day a local heavyweight boxer, is the club’s oldest member.
