IT'S CRUNCH time for Glamorgan in the NatWest T20 and tonight we can take a massive step towards earning a spot in the quarter-finals.

With two games left it looks like a straight shootout between ourselves and Somerset for fourth place in the South Group.

Our fate is in our hands and we would have taken that at the start of the competition given that we are up against some sides with brilliant T20 records.

We've got Essex tonight and Gloucestershire next Friday – both in front of our own fans at the Swalec Stadium.

It's a tough ask this evening against a top quality team that currently sit in first place with nine wins from 10 games but we are at home and have players in good form.

Jim Allenby and Jacques Rudolph have been brilliant at the top of the order while our bowlers have been doing well and our fielding has been good, so there's no reason why we can't get revenge for a four-wicket defeat in Chelmsford.

I am sure someone will be keeping a close eye on how things are going in Canterbury, where Somerset take on Kent, but it's all about us keeping our end of the bargain rather than relying on results from elsewhere.

The whole place has been given a lift by bringing James Harris back on loan from Middlesex.

He's a top quality bowler and hopefully over the next month he will help us enjoy plenty of success in all forms of the game.

It should be a situation that benefits everyone – we get the services of a top-class matchwinner, Middlesex give game time to one of their players and James gets the chance to return to the form that put him on England's radar.

There is a real buzz around the place thanks to him coming home and that's timely given it is a key part of the season.

We've got the knockout stages of the T20 in our sights, there is still an outside chance of sneaking second spot in Division Two of the County Championship and the 50-over Royal London One Day Cup starts when we host Middlesex next Saturday.

But for now we are all focused on winning what is a massive game for us this evening. Win and we might even be able to celebrate a place in the quarters.
