MEMBERS of Newport-based Gassor’s Tournament Team achieved a clean sweep at the London Open Taekwon-Do Championships in Guildford.
Seven members of the team, who are based at the Newport Martial Arts & Fitness Centre (MAFC) in Maindee, took part in the tournament and all seven came away with a medal.
The seven Gassor’s members came away with 5 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals.
The club is very proud of all seven team members and the results were: Gold medallists: Arron Rose (Patterns), Georgia Southway (Sparring), Isobel Southway (Sparring), Jamie Yung (Sparring) and Matiss Jekalis (Sparring). Silver medallist: Gwyn Blackmore (Sparring). Bronze medallists: Robert Howell (Sparring and Patterns).
Gassor’s senior instructor and head coach Leanne Gassor-Jones, 4th Degree Black Belt, congratulated all seven team members on their great success at the tournament, and would like to thank all Gassor’s team members and supporters for their continuous support and hard work.
