NEWPORT County boss Justin Edinburgh will rotate his ranks again for tonight’s friendly with Coventry City at Spytty Park, writes Michael Pearlman.
Edinburgh will welcome illness victim Adam Chapman back into the fold tonight and is only without injured duo Jamie Stephens and Max Porter as he fine-tunes his team for a week on Saturday when League Two gets underway.
“Those who need the minutes will play, I want to have a look at Kevin Feely and Ismail Yakubu together tonight, and Andy Sandell will get another 90 minutes,” Edinburgh confirmed.
“Rene Howe, Lenny Pidgeley, Lee Minshull and Yan Klukowski will all play and probably Chris Zebroski and Shaun Jeffers will start but not finish the game.
“I think I probably have five, six or seven of the XI pencilled in for Wycombe, but there are still places up for grabs.”
Edinburgh has also confirmed to the Argus that he has picked his captain and will make an announcement on Thursday at Newport’s media day.
Edinburgh is also expected to speak later this week on his transfer plans before the window shuts. As revealed in Argus Sport, two players may yet depart Rodney Parade as Edinburgh shuffles the pack.
