FORMER dual-code international John Devereux will be the guest speaker at the Welsh Charitables RFC charity dinner in Cwmbran this month.
The event at Greenmeadow Golf Club on Friday, April 24 will feature the former Bridgend centre, who won 21 caps for Wales in union before representing Great Britain 10 times and Wales six in the 13-man code, telling tales from an eventful career.
David Power, secretary of the Welsh Charitables, said: "Rugby fans who come along to our dinner will hear John talk about his experiences of being part of a period of time when the Welsh rugby union team lost many of its top players due to the big money being offered in league.
"It will be a wonderful insight into the pressures of that time of being a top player and the tempting cash offers being on the table."
Tickets are £35 each and include a four-course dinner plus tea and coffee. Call Mr Power on 07973 705062, to get your ticket.
