NEWPORT High School Old Boys duo Josh Reynolds and James McCarthy have been named in the Wales Under-16s squad for Sunday's capped clash with their English counterparts.
Tighthead prop Reynolds, a member of the Dragons' academy, and wing/full-back McCarthy, part of the Dragons Under-16s South squad, earned selection for the encounter at Ystrad Mynach by catching the eye at the Wellington Festival.
The two Caerleon Comprehensive pupils were among 50 youngsters in two squads that locked horns with sides from England, France and Scotland in the week-long tournament in Berkshire.
Reynolds, Caldicot's Ryan James and Bassaleg pair Tom Hoppe and Sam Dinsdale were in the Wales Celts side that lost to England South West 17-12 before thrashing Scotland 48-0 and drawing 17-17 with England North.
McCarthy, St Julians' Lennon Greggains and Croesyceiliog's Daniel Babos were in the Wales Druids squad that lost to France West in their opener but came back strongly to beat England Midland 19-0 and England London and South East 19-12.
The Wales versus England game on the 3G pitch at Caerphilly County Borough Centre for Sporting Excellence, Newport Gwent Dragons' training base, kicks off a 2.30pm on Sunday.
