WALES finished sixth in the World Rugby U20 Championship after being edged out by Australia in Viadana.
Australia enjoyed a 14-5 lead at the break with Scarlets wing Joshua Adams’ try sandwiched by scores from Adam Korczyk and Lukhan Lealaiaulolo-Tui.
Folau Faingaa and Jonah Placid stretched the Aussies’ lead but the Welsh youngsters showed great spirit to come storming back.
Cardiff Blues wing Elis-Wyn Benham crossed and then Newport Gwent Dragons speedster Lloyd Lewis went over at the death but it wasn’t enough to steal fifth place.
