THE newly formed Pontypool United Under 14s team had a very large surprise at training this week when former Wales International Craig Quinnell turned up to coach them.
Craig, who knows the parents of one of the players, offered to drive up from his Cardiff home and give the lads the benefit of his knowledge and experience.
It was a very lively session where Craig showed he still had the handling skills, speed and power that famously ran through the big English wing Steve Hanley.
The team are preparing for the coming season and train at 6:30 on Tuesdays and Fridays at Pontypool United RFC.
They are looking for lads in school years 8 and 9 to come and along and join the squad.
The team have level 3 coaches in place and are frequently supported by Pontypool United first team players in their sessions.
Any new players are welcome to come at any time to the twice weekly sessions.
