MEMBERS of Cwmbran and Pontypool Taekwondo Club are celebrating an impressive medal haul from the English Championships.
The tournament was held at Worcester Arena and there were around 1,300 competitors taking part.
Apart from the individual events, there was also the favourite teams event.
Club members did a brilliant job and took home 14 gold, 12 silver and 15 bronze medals.
Gold medals went to: Hollie Baker (girls yellow belt tiny tot sparring), Darcey Jordan (girls yellow belt patterns), Summer Underwood (girls green belt patterns), Jo Paginton (executive ladies yellow/green belt heavyweight sparring), Jonathan Underwood (men's green belt patterns), Lauren Neale (cadet girls blue/red belt lightweight sparring), Catrin Jones (girls red belt peewee sparring), Grace Cole (girls red belt middleweight sparring), Scarlett Pearson (cadet girls blue/red belt patterns), Maya Levan (cadet girls black belt patterns), Team Jill, Team Catty, Jasmin and Sofea, Team Maya and Team Kieran and Taylor.
Silver medals went to: Jack Williams (boys yellow belt peewee sparring), Kristopher Jones (boys yellow belt heavyweight sparring), Holly Cockeram (girls green belt peewee sparring), Kalim Hussain (boys green belt patterns), Lauren Neale (cadet girls blue/red belt patterns), Sofea Levan (girls black belt patterns), Catty Langford (girls black belt lightweight sparring), Carl Betty (men's black belt lightweight sparring), Team Darcey, Holly and Summer, Team Jack, Team Kristopher and Team Kian and David.
Bronze medals went to: Callum Sullivan (boys yellow belt tiny tot sparring), Darcey Jordan (girls yellow belt peewee sparring), Kalim Hussain (boys green belt peewee sparring), Jill Griffin (ladies red belt light-heavyweight sparring), Jasmin Levan (girls black belt patterns), Sofea Levan (girls black belt lightweight sparring), Jasmine Peploe (cadet girls black belt lightweight sparring), Maya Levan (cadet girls black belt middleweight sparring), Cameron Ferrie (cadet boys black belt light-heavyweight sparring), Jamie Sullivan (men's black belt patterns), Team Callum, Neo and Kalim, Team Liam, Team Grace, Team Lauren and Team Jamie and Cameron.
The club also has a training session especially for the 4-6 years old (Little Tigers) only. Training sessions will be every Tuesday at Pontypool Active Living Centre at 5pm.
Club members are now working hard for coming tournaments, Welsh Closed (April) and Welsh Championships (May).
