CIL-Y-COED Dragons under-15s are celebrating after being crowned overall winners of the South-East Wales Netball League.
Based in Caldicot, the Dragons travel to play tournaments monthly in Ebbw Vale Sports Centre and have only lost once since September.
The team has also just returned from a successful tour to Boreatton Park near Shrewsbury where they played in an England Netball tournament.
The Dragons were the only Welsh club taking part and they beat every team to claim victory in the tournament.
Coached by mother and daughters Jill, Chloe and Lauren Owen, the club has produced a number of outstanding prospects.
Some have been noticed by coaches within the Welsh Netball set-up and there are many girls progressing to play for the South-East Wales county team and at the Welsh Netball Development Talent Centre and Monmouthshire Local Authority Hub.
The team trains on a Saturday in Calidicot Leisure Centre and times vary depending on the age group.
The Dragons train girls from aged eight up to the age of 18.
The netball season will start again in September but there will be a free taster session for anyone currently in years two to five in school on Saturday, July 14, from 11am to 12pm at Calidicot Leisure Centre.
