NEWPORT County AFC pair Michael Flynn and Joe Day have been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two manager and player of the month awards respectively.
County were unbeaten in seven games in April, winning four and drawing three and conceding just one goal along the way.
Flynn, who masterminded victories over champions Lincoln City and promotion winners Bury as well as wins over Cambridge United and Oldham Athletic, is up against Macclesfield Town’s Sol Campbell, Mark Cooper of Forest Green Rovers and Dino Maamria of Stevenage.
Exiles goalkeeper Day, who kept six clean sheets in seven games last month, is vying with Exeter City striker Ryan Bowman, Forest Green’s Newport-born front man Christian Doidge and Stevenage forward Kurtis Guthrie for April's player of the month award.
The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; League Managers’ Association director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
The winners will be announced tomorrow.
