COUNTY boss Peter Beadle couldn't contain his delight after seeing his side romp to a 5-0 win over Weston-super-Mare yesterday.
Goals from Ian Hillier, Jason Bowen, Nathan Davies and two for Charlie Griffin saw the Exiles rise to fifth in the Blue Square South table and gave Beadle plenty of New Year cheer.
"From first minute to last I thought we were awesome," he said.
"That was as complete a performance as I've seen from this team in a long time.
"From back to front we were superb," he added. "What Glyn (Thompson) had to deal with he did it brilliantly, the back four were excellent, the boys in midfield did well going forward and Nathan (Davies) marshalled them and protected the back four really well.
"And the two boys up front - their movement and enthusiasm will cause any team problems.
And just when the opposition think they're getting a breather, Jermaine (Clarke), (Julian) Alsop and (Mark) Dodds come on. It just shows the depth we have in the squad and the fact that everyone is chomping at the bit to get a game."
With three further home fixtures in the league this month, as well as the FA Trophy clash with Torquay United, Beadle insists that yesterday's result will fill the side with confidence.
"We looked like we were going to score every time we went forward and you can't ask for anything more than that," he said.
"That's the sort of potential we have got, we moved the ball superbly and if we'd won by eight or nine goals I don't think there would have been any complaints.
"Hayes on Saturday will be a different proposition but we've shown what we can do and the other teams around us will have taken note of this performance," he added.
