NEWPORT Gwent Dragons make three changes in their front five for tonight's Magners League game against Glasgow at Firhill when they will attempt to gain a hat trick of away victories over the Scottish side.

Adam Black and Ben Daly come into the front row at loose head prop and hooker, respectively, at the expense of Huw Gustafson and Steve Jones while Andrew Hall takes over from Peter Sidoli at lock, Adam Jones moving from front to middle jumper.

The front five was probably the least satisfactory area of the Dragons team in the New Year's Day victory over Llanelli Scarlets when they conceded a penalty try at a scrum and lost several of their own line-outs.

Hall will welcome his return to action after missing the last five games, his last appearance being against Munster on November 24, because he will be playing against his former team.

And Hall is always passionate about his Scottish eligibility and will seek to impress their coach Frank Hadden with a view to getting back into the national squad at least.

Apart from the front five changes the Dragons field the side which achieved the double over the Scarlets for the first time.

Wings Richard Fussell and Richard Mustoe are both in good form, so there is no immediate return for Gareth Wyatt, fit again after being out for nearly two months with a damaged shoulder.

Back row trio Joe Bearman, Michael Owen and Colin Charvis remain, with Richard Parks, Jamie Ringer, Dan Lydiate and Nic Fitisemanu all injured, though the trio performed manfully against the Scarlets.

Recent Academy pair Lewis Evans, who has been playing for Newport, and James Harris who has been with Bedwas, are both on the bench in a five-two split in favour of forwards.

Half backs Alex Walker and Aled Thomas are the only back replacements.

A rare two victories in a row would further boost the Dragons, apart from lifting them above Glasgow in the table and also the Ospreys, who face league leaders Leinster in Dublin tomorrow.

Charvis said: "The win over the Scarlets was great for the team and we're pleased to have been able to achieve that for our loyal supporters who've witnessed a difficult run of results. We now need to build on this momentum and turn the narrow losses we've experienced into victories."

Ceri Sweeney added: "We don't underestimate what they are capable of and know we have to work hard to come away with another good result."

Heavy snow is forecast in Glasgow today but the Firhill ground has got undersoil heating so the match is not expected to be affected.
