PETER Beadle admits he can't please all of his supporters all of the time, but he's backing County's faithful fans to roar them to victory in tomorrow's FA Trophy round two clash with Conference high-flyers Torquay United (kick-off 3pm).
Beadle is hopeful that the Spytty Park playing surface will stand up to the heavy rain south Wales has endured this week and believes tomorrow's clash will go ahead.
He said: "The forecast for today and tomorrow isn't so bad and we feel the pitch is in pretty good shape.
"If we'd had a midweek game my feeling is it would have gone ahead (although Llanwern's Wednesday fixture was postponed).
"We are very hopeful that the game will be on."
Beadle took some flak from supporters after Saturday's 1-1 draw at Spytty Park with Hayes and Yeading, but believes the Newport Stadium faithful will play a crucial role tomorrow.
"I went to watch Torquay on Monday night, they lost 2-1 to Burton Albion," he said. "What I really noticed was how much influence the 2,500 Torquay fans made. They were very vocal and some big decisions went their way in the first half," he said.
"I hope our supporters will be out in force on Saturday, it's a great game for the club with Torquay flying high in the Conference.
"Our aim is to be playing in that league next season and while they deserve our respect, we don't fear Torquay and think we can give them a really tough game."
On the subject of his own supporters questioning his tactics on Saturday, Beadle was philosophical.
"You can't please all of the people all of the time and as a manager I am paid to make the decisions I think are right, I always do that," he said.
"The Argus report said I should have taken off Charlie Griffin before Craig Hughes and some supporters thought I should have made other changes earlier than I did.
"But I always do what I think is right for the club and we've only lost four games this season.
"A manager lives and dies by his decisions, just look at Sam Allardyce!"
County are sweating on the fitness of midfielder Jason Bowen, who has a medial knee ligament strain. The winger has been wrapped in cotton wool this week and Beadle is hopeful he will be fit.
Winger Sam O'Sullivan is on stand-by to replace Bowen, delaying a potential loan move as he looks to regain match sharpness after a three-month spell on the sidelines.
Beadle must also decide which two strikers to pick with giants Jermaine Clarke and Julian Alsop both pressing for a first team recall.
