STEPHEN Jones could be following half back partner Dwayne Peel out of Llanelli and out of Wales.
Peel this week said he is joining leading Guinness Premiership side Sale, now 66-times capped 30-year-old Jones is believed to be talking to clubs in England and France about a possible move.
Jones signed a new three-year contract with the Scarlets on his return from Clermont Auvergne, but there is supposed to be a clause in his contract which says he can talk to other clubs this month.
Scarlets chief executive Stuart Gallacher says they want to retain Jones and are also talking to Jones and his agent in the hope that he will sign a new deal for them.
It would be a massive blow to the Scarlets if Jones follows Peel in leaving while it would further test new coach Warren Gatland and WRU chief executive Roger Lewis' policy of leading players jeopardising their chances of playing for Wales if they leave.
