A BREAK in the weather at the weekend allowed 30 games to be played in the District League.
Llanwern RTB continued to reign supreme at the top of Premier X after a 6-3 win against Malpas.
James Hood (2), John Heard, Robert McCarthy, Jamie Smith and Andrew Foster got the goals. Pill AFC won 4-3 away to Marshfield with their goals coming from Ashley Ball (3) and Matthew Brian.
Seven goals from Chris Evans (4), Darren Beckett, Daniel Larcombe and Matthew Coretti gave Pontnewydd United a 7-0 win over Henllys Rangers.
Pill Hibernians recorded a 4-2 win against Oakfield with goals from Nevid Mizada (2), Phil Anderson and Terrence Vaughan. The Ship and Pilot scored two direct hits against SS Llanwern to win 2-0.
Lloyd Jacobs and Gaga Assalam got the goals. Caerleon Town won 3-2 away to St Julians Youth.
In the Premier Y, Rogerstone hit nine passed Malpas Gladiator. Craig Cowland (5), Neirun Davies (2), Matthew Jeffrey, plus an own goal, got the goals in the 9-1 win.
Lucas Cwmbran gained a 5-3 win over local rivals Coed Eva Athletic with Jeff Bevan, Gareth Appleby, Anthony Roach-Blackwell and Caleb Hales getting the goals.
Cromwell Youth won 2-1 away to Spencer Boys Club. Three goals from Dominic Waters, Jamie Lewis and Steven Wood gave AC Pontymister a 3-2 win against Trethomas Bluebirds.
Lliswerry won 4-0 against Cwmbran Celtic with goals from Nigel Thompson (2), Adam Corfield and David Jones.
With Shaftesbury Youth without a game, Croesyceiliog took the opportunity to close the gap on the Division One leaders. They won 3-2 away to Villa Dino Christchurch.
Six goals from David Phillips (2), Daniel Jeavons, Chris Cook, Neil Murdock and Louis Kalter gave Newport Corinthians a 6-2 win against the Royal Mail.
Spencer Old Boys came back to winning ways with a 4-0 win over Albion Rovers. Gary Vaughan (2), Lee Guscott and Darren Redding got the goals.
Cwmcarn Athletic won 2-0 away to Caerleon Town. The Tradesmans Arms were held to a 2-2 draw by Pontnewydd United.
St Dials continue to top Division Two after a 1-0 win over Cosmos. Paul Walker got the goal.
Five goals from Andrew John (2), Tom Heath, Anthony Griffiths and Nathan Borja gave Graig-y-Rhacca a 5-0 win over AC Pontymister. Pill AFC and the Ship and Pilot shared the points in a 2-2 draw.
David Wilson (5), Jonathan Palmer (3), Matthew Davies and Steve Cooper were the scorers for Ponthir in their 10-1 win over Rogerstone. Riverview Hibernians were the league's top scorers when beating the Royal Mail 12-4. Malpas and Lliswerry drew 2-2.
In Division Three, Pill Hibernians beat the Greenhouse 6-3 with goals from Tony Rees (2), Carl Ingles (2) and Barry Nicholas (2).
Cwmbran Centre YP held the Darren to a 3-3 draw. Two goals from Mark Chircop and Zack Cluer gave Albion Rovers a rare 2-1 win over Newport Racing Club.
Just one game was played in the Sunday Division One. Cwmbran Athletic increased their lead at the top with a 3-2 win against Redwood Club. New Age Revolution failed to turn up against Coronation Club.
Drakes AFC also failed to raise a side against Llanwern United. New Age Revolution have indicated that they are withdrawing from the Sunday Division One.
In Division Two, six goals from Andrew Hayes (3), Steve Wheatstone, Darren Wheatstone and Richard Jones gave Leaders TRW a 6-1 win over County Athletic.
The Royal Mail beat the Pioneer 2-1. ND Celtics won 3-2 against Athletico Allsorts. The Oddfellows Arms kept up the pressure on TRW with a 3-1 win over AC Haymakers.
