NEWPORT County's highly-anticipated trip to Ninian Park for the FAW Premier Cup semi-final will definitely take place on Tuesday, February 19, (kick-off 7pm), the club has confirmed.

There had been a doubt over the date due to Cardiff City's involvement in the FA Cup, with the possibility that the Bluebirds would play Championship rivals West Brom on that date, but the FAW game is now set in stone and will be televised by BBC Wales.

County also confirmed that the Blue Square South clash with FA Cup heroes Havant & Waterlooville, postponed last month because of a waterlogged pitch at Spytty Park, will now take place on Wednesday, April 9 (kick-off 7.45pm).

Supporters should also be aware that the league game away to Welling United will now take place this coming Tuesday.

Meanwhile fans have been urged to show their support for the team by turning up in great numbers tomorrow despite the clash with the England v Wales match at Twickenham.

The Exiles host third-placed Hampton & Richmond in a crucial promotion battle at Spytty Park (kick-off 3pm) while Wales' Six Nations opener kicks off at 4.30pm.

A club spokesman said: "It's a top-of-the-table clash and it would be nice to see a big crowd to give the team the usual great support and cheer us on to a great win which will keep us in the running for a play-offs place.

"The Wales game will be shown on the big screen TV in Bar Amber and members are welcome to stay and watch the game there.

"Hopefully it will be a great day for Welsh sport with County getting another three points and Wales winning at Twickenham too."

Supporters can expect an announcement about the date and time of the Lewes league clash in the next 24 hours. The game is currently scheduled for Saturday, February 23.
