COUNTY boss Peter Beadle says he didn't sleep in the wake of Monday's humbling by Thurrock but still believes his side can and will make the play-offs.
The Exiles fans made their frustration clear following the 4-1 hammering at Spytty Park on Monday night and the flak has continued to fly on the Argus website and various message boards online since then.
Beadle understands the criticism but claims he and the players have to ignore the negativity and focus on the positives ahead of tomorrow's make-or-break home clash with Fisher Athletic (kick off 3pm).
"I can't start doubting myself or my players now," he said.
"Monday was awful and we're all hurting. I didn't sleep that night but on Tuesday morning my mind turned to Saturday. We've got to put it out of our heads and concentrate on getting the win we need.
"It's still in our own hands and I believe this squad can achieve what we want to achieve, which is to get into the play-offs and win them.
"We've never been winners before this season but we've won the FAW Premier Cup and I think we'll show that we're winners once again on Saturday."
Beating Fisher is a must and Beadle urged the supporters to play a positive part in driving the players on to victory.
"I've said it before - the fans can be a massive plus for us but they can also be a big negative," he said.
"I've heard people say the team is too old and too slow but that's nonsense - these are the same players that have got us in this position and it's a team to be proud of.
"For the second year running we've got something to play for on the last day. These players have pushed over trees for the fans and it's vital that everyone gets behind us.
"The only way we'll do it is collectively. Everyone has to be on top of their game - the players, me and the fans."
Beadle refused to be drawn on any personnel changes for tomorrow's game but he will be without the suspended Craig Hughes and Lee Jarman.
By far the biggest worry, however, is the fitness or otherwise of his main creative force - veteran winger Jason Bowen.
The former Birmingham, Cardiff and Swansea man was sorely missed against Thurrock and Beadle will be hoping his ageing hamstrings will be ready for one last effort tomorrow.
